B.S. in Physical Education Teacher Education

The physical education teacher education track leads to a K-12 licensure within the state of Ohio. The program coursework includes content on sports and physical activities, movement patterns and motor skills, social and psychological development, and pedagogy. Students will be involved with multiple field experiences across elementary, middle, and high school settings in a diverse range of environments.

B.S. in Sport Coaching and Recreation

The sport coaching and recreation track leads students towards a variety of roles within athletics, sport, and recreation. The program coursework goes beyond coaching skills and strategy to include content on physical and psychological aspects, motor and mental performance, and coaching effectiveness. In addition to foundation coursework, students will be complete multiple hands-on experiences and internships within coaching and community-based settings.

Minor in Coaching Education

The coaching education minor is designed to prepare students for coaching and administration within youth sport. Students will complete 18 credit hours that provide the essential skills related to a variety of coaching roles within school and non-school settings.

Minor in Physical Activity Specialist

The physical activity specialist minor is designed to prepare students for promotion of physical activity and well-being in a variety of populations, cultures, and settings. Students will complete 18 credit hours that provide the essential skills related to working with preschoolers, children, and youth in physical activity settings.

Health Education Licensure

The health education licensure is designed to prepare for students’ preparation to attain qualifications in the area of school health education across grades K-12. Students will complete 24 credit hours that will provide the necessary health and wellness skills to meet the requirements for a health education credential in conjunction with a teaching license.
