Brady Nahlik

Hi, I’m currently a first year in the social psychology Ph.D. program. I grew up in southern Illinois and received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Biomedical Science from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017.

My research interests broadly involve the impact of self-concepts on person perception and intergroup relations. Particularly, I’m interested in how factors regarding the self affect how people interact with members of social out-groups. In one line of research, I’m interested in how interactions with members of out-groups may change an individual’s self-concept. In another line of research, I’m interested in how learning aspects about another person can impact the way that we empathize with them.
