Tent City

This semester I participated in Tent City in Toledo through GIVE, an on-campus club. We spent Friday night in tents and all of Saturday was filled with volunteering, helping homeless and low-income people get warm clothes, social services, doctors appointments, and more. It was an amazing experience that I plan to bring with me throughout my non-profit minor classes. I am going to move back to Chicago after I graduate and I believe this is a great event that should be brought back with me, spreading team human love everywhere.

Artifact 2

On October 8th, my siblings and I ran the Chicago Marathon. This has been an anticipated event since we signed up last November. It has been an aspect of school since I started at OSU, making sure I found time to go running in preparation. It has helped me realize that going for a run in the morning before my classes is a great way to wake me up and help me feel good about the day.

This year I joined Broom ball with my fellow Mounties. At first I was hesitant because it was late on a Sunday night but I am so glad I did not miss this opportunity. My whole life I have been in sports and when I think about it, all of them helped me improve academically as well. They give me a way to release my stress in a productive manner and wake me up both physically and mentally, ready to focus on school. Broom ball, while not the same sport as what I played at home, gives me a sense of familiarity and comfort.
