Principal Investigator
Courtney Lynch, PhD MPH is the lead investigator for the SPA Study. Dr. Lynch is a reproductive epidemiologist by training which means that she specializes in the studying the effect of health and disease on fertility and pregnancy. More specifically, Dr. Lynch’s main research interest is the identification of modifiable risk factors for fertility problems, pregnancy loss, and other adverse pregnancy outcomes. Dr. Lynch received her PhD in maternal and child health epidemiology from Johns Hopkins University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in reproductive epidemiology at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development at the National Institute of Health. A native of Ohio, she has been at The Ohio State University since 2008 where she serves as an Associate Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Epidemiology, and Pediatrics and Director of Research Education. On a more personal note, Dr. Lynch has one son who is the light of her life.
