Meeting Notes

Meeting 1: 1/12/2018

Duration: 11:10 am- 12:30 pm (face-to-face)

Location: Hitchcock Hall 224

Members Present: Alex, Mitchell, Nolan, McKenna

Materials were distributed and Nolan was assigned to be The Box Bodyguard. Everybody helped take initial inventory of supplies. We all signed the document confirming that we received all the materials listed. A base overview of the AEV project was discussed with enthralling enthusiasm.

Meeting 2: 1/18/2018

Duration: 5:30 pm- 7:30 pm (face-to-face)

Location: 8th Floor Drackett Tower

Members Present: Mitchell, Nolan, Alex, McKenna

The Mission Concept Review was discussed and written.Topics included budget, goal, Smart City Columbus requirements, and present issues within the city of Linden. More so, our OSU website was formatted and organized, as well as establishing sub-pages and contact information. Group bonding ensued.

Meeting 3: 2/1/2018

Duration: 8:30 pm-12:00 am (face-to-face)

Each of the objectives were complete, and inserted on the website. Website and picture formatting went along with this. Other aspects for lab objectives, and division of labor were discussed and assigned, as well as time management. We were unable to upload data analysis plots due to not being at this point yet within lab periods.

Meeting 4: 1/26/2018

The group discussed the sensor code and testing methods. The objective of this meeting was to write a test code for reflectance sensors and run the code to ensure proper functionality. The code was collaborated on by Alex and Mckenna. Ultimately the testing was completed by the end of the meeting by Mitchell and Nolan.

Meeting 5: 2/1/2018

The group discussed the AEV concept design, individual AEV designs, reflectance sensors, and programming. Mitchell uploaded the individual and team concept sketches to the website. Alex and Nolan added reflectance sensor images to the website along with descriptions, and inserted programming code to the website. Each of the objectives were completed, and inserted on the website. Website and picture formatting was completed by Mckenna. Other aspects for lab objectives, and division of labor were discussed and assigned, as well as time management. We were unable to upload data analysis plots due to not being at this point yet within lab periods.

Meeting 6: 2/2/2018

The group discussed how to write a code to test the reflectance sensors on the track and how to download the MATLAB software to analyze the data. The objectives were to get the AEV to a design that could be tested on the track, write a test code, and analyze the data using MATLAB. Alex and McKenna wrote the test code while Nolan redesigned the AEV and Mitchell set up the analysis software. All of the objectives were completed by the end of the lab period.

Meeting 7: 2/8/2018

Location: Drackett Tower 1st  Floor

Members Present: Alex, Mitchell, McKenna, Nolan

The group discussed the AEV concept screening and scoring as well as the progress report. The objectives of the meeting included completing the concept screening and scoring for the AEV as well as finishing the written progress report. The group also discussed future project endeavors including roles and responsibilities for the next steps in the project.

Meeting 8: 2/9/18

Group members Nolan, Mitchell, and Alex worked on Advanced R&D 1, in which they tested the relation of voltage on battery usage with a set program run. Group member McKenna worked on the SolidWorks model of the AEV.

Meeting 9: 2/9/18

Members Present: Alex, Mitchell, McKenna, Nolan

Group members Nolan and Mitchell worked on the powerpoint for presentation while group members Alex and McKenna worked on the team working agreement and team meeting minutes. All members discussed goals for the committee meeting as well as roles to be taken.

Meeting 10: 3/1/18

All members worked on the presentation. Group members Alex and McKenna worked on the introduction, problem definition, and plan while group members Nolan and Mitchell worked on data analysis and conclusions.

Meeting 11: 3/9/18

Members Present: Alex, Mitchell, McKenna, Nolan

McKenna worked on revising progress report 1 at the beginning and meeting notes for progress report 2 at the end. Alex worked on uploading the arduino code and all of the figures. Nolan and Mitchell worked on the backward and forward looking summary.

Meeting 12: 3/23/18

Duration: 6:00 pm- 10:00 pm

Members Present: Alex, Mitchell, McKenna, Nolan

All group members worked on the CDR draft. Headings were added for each part and members added parts as needed. Alex mostly worked on the executive summary and introduction, Nolan mostly worked on experimental methodology and appendices while Mitchell worked on results and appendices. McKenna worked mostly on the discussion.

Meeting 13: 4/8/18

Group members Nolan and Alex worked on the backwards looking summary for progress report 3 while team members Mitchell and McKenna worked on the forwards looking summary and appendices.

Meeting 14: 4/17/18

Alex worked on revising the executive summary for the CDR while McKenna worked on calculating capital cost of the AEV and the discussion of the CDR. Nolan and Mitchell worked on refining the conclusions of the CDR.

Meeting 15: 4/18/18

Alex and McKenna worked on revising the experimental methodology and the discussion for the CDR. Nolan and Mitchell worked on refining the results and conclusions of the CDR. McKenna worked on updating the meeting notes for the final website.
