Approach to Mission Concept Review

The many issues present in Linden’s residential area have caused numerous setbacks for its 30,000 citizens. Due to I-71, the basic services of people in this region cannot be met easily. These services including financial services, medical centers, and access to food. Furthermore, intersections in this city have been proven hazardous and there is a lack of bus stops. These problems have been identified and addressed in our aim to create sustainable transportation.

Division P plans to meet the goals of the Smart City Columbus project. The Smart City Columbus project was created in order to make Columbus a more energy efficient city, in turn, generating less pollution and setting an example for other cities to follow. Our team aims to create an Advanced Energy Vehicle (AEV) that will transport individuals from Linden to Easton and Polaris. In compliance with the goals set forth by the Smart City Columbus grant, the vehicle will be operated autonomously. In addition, the AEV will be suspended from a monorail system traversing the distance between the areas.

This project is funded by the Smart City Columbus grant amounting $500,000 to our group to our cause. Our goal is to maximize efficiency while minimizing cost. The money will be used to purchase essential components of the AEV as well as energy fees. Time, research, development, and safety costs will also be taken into consideration. Through these efforts, the citizens of Linden will gain access to services they did not have previously.
