Fall Break: How to Have a Staycation

This long weekend marks the first official “Fall Break” at The Ohio State University. On October 15 and 16, students will get a nice break from their classes and a four day weekend. Some students will use this opportunity to go home and visit family, or take a mini-vacation. However, not all of us can be so lucky. Here are some ways to have an awesome break right here in Columbus:

1. Explore the city. I was born and raised in Columbus, and I still have not experienced all that Columbus has to offer. Use this long weekend as an opportunity to visit COSI, bike the Olentangy Greenway Trail or go to a Blue Jackets game! (buy tickets here)

2. Cheer on your team. Just because school is out does not mean that our football team gets a break. On Saturday, October 17, Ohio State is taking on Penn State University in what is sure to be a great home game at 8 p.m.

3. Relax. For those of you who feel overwhelmed and stressed out with school and work and being involved, take a weekend to treat yourself! Brew a cup of hot chocolate, snag the best spot on the couch and hit the Netflix queue.

If you still find yourself looking for something to do, the Ohio Union will be open and host to multiple events with all of the university dining operations open as well. Also, be sure to follow the sOUrce and catch up on any blog posts that you may have missed!
