About me

1.Now

Hello everyone! I am Zhixin Song, a transfer from China. You can just call me Vincent. This is my first semester inSanzio_01_Plato_Aristotle   OSU. And I am glad to make friends with everyone! Making friends with people from different places is an important part in my life. We can exchange our innovative ideas. So just feel free to contact with me. Now, I live in Columbus, a gorgeous city in US. My parents live in Shanghai, my hometown, a beautiful and international city. My major is physics, specialize in Condensed Matter. And my philosophy is to seek the truth and beauty in this world! I love arts, philosophy and science. Such deep thoughts make me to think about my life again and again. They help me to find the meaning of my life. Usually, I would like to read philosophy works in my spare time. My favorite philosopher is Nietzsche. I enjoy listening to classic musics to relax myself and adjust my status. If you have the same interests, please let me know!

2.Past

During the first 17 years in my life, I lived and studied in Shanghai. I took my high school on Senior high school affiliated to university of shanghai for science and technology. Then I went to Hefei to continue my academic life. Actually, it’s my first time to leave home so far by myself. In the Hefei University of Technology, I find my life goal. And it is also the first time I tried so hard in study. It’s a very big shift. I begin to feel excited when I learn something new and cannot wait to share it with my friends. Since I spend most spare time in the library, my classmates call me the ghost of library.  Once I am the top student in the biomedical engineering major. But finally I realized that physics is my life job.

3.Why OSU and my plan.

Why I choose OSU? Good question. Many people come here because of the famous Fisher College. However, they may not realize that physics major in OSU is also great, especially in Condensed Matter Physics. I love physics. My favorite physicist Feynman let me know that this world is extremely beautiful, especially from the view point of physics. Since there are too many unpredictable factors, I am not sure whether I will become a physicist or not. But I know the spirit of seeking the truth will go through me life. My life goal is to invent some nano-machine to extend the life span of human being, which could detect diseases and renovate cell organizations automatically. Theoretically, most people can have an extra life span of 50 years or more. I got this idea from my previous major. However, if you want to make such big deal, the knowledge you should learn is far beyond imagination. I don’t know how long it will take. Now I am still on my way to obtain necessary skills. Hope OSU could be the best start place.OSU_William_Oxley_Thompson_Memorial_Library_East_Atrium
