This past year has been filled with new and old experiences. Sophomore year is an interesting time at Ohio State because you are surrounded by the same people, and still live in a dorm. There are not a whole lot of surprises from the university because you have had a year of experience at Ohio State already. The big difference between freshman year and sophomore year for me has been my classes. I have been able to dive into my major instead of having to worry about studying for calculus. The Dunn Sports and Scholars program has helped me on a personal level. The constant inflow of professionals from the field of nutrition and personal fitness has motivated to me get myself into better mental and physical shape. I have improved my time management skills which has allowed me to allocate my time efficiently between class work, the clubs I am in, the ability to go to the gym, and make time for myself. I have also learned how to eat healthier, although I sometimes slip on that with the occasional brownie. Dunn Sports and Wellness exceeded my expectations form move in day. The community that this program forms is truly incredible, and it made the transition into college so much easier. The close knit community you form as freshmen is also beneficial for sophomore year. Living with people you truly enjoy freshman year sets you up fantastically for picking roommates for sophomore year. I did not have to worry about finding somebody to live with last year because we all wanted to live together again. This scholars program and everyone involved in it have been truly incredible, and it has been a pleasure to participate in it. If I were to change one aspect of the program it would be to develop more a variety of professionals to come in and speak to us. It felt like we primarily heard from people in the nutrition or self improvement field. As an environmental major, I found these professionals interesting, but I did not get a lot from them in terms of my professional aspirations. Dunn Sports and Wellness has provided me a tremendous experience these last two years, and I am grateful for everything it gave me.
