Welcome Class of 2027!

We welcomed the Class of 2027 to the Ohio State Optometry family during Buckeye Launch August 14-18. Thank you to the faculty, staff, and student volunteers who helped get this great group of new students off to a strong start! We are excited to see what they bring to our community over the next four years.

Reminders and Tips for Staying Safe and Healthy

  • Hold each other (yes, even your faculty and staff!) accountable for appropriate mask wear, the Ohio State Wellness app features an article about how to have a conversation about masks with a fellow Buckeye.
  • If you are going to be in the buildings, please remember your daily health reporting. If you do not receive a green screen, please contact Dean Zadnik or Dr. Nixon before entering the buildings.
  • Contact Dean Zadnik or Dr. Nixon directly if you have been exposed to COVID, are exhibiting symptoms, or have been tested.
  • Thank you for not bringing visitors into the buildings.
  • Clubs and organizations may reserve space in the buildings for gatherings of 10 or less people (being mindful of masking and distancing). All other meetings and events are to be held virtually.
  • Limit your time in the buildings to only essential activities, and remember to social distance while in lunchrooms, classrooms or other common spaces.
  • If you are in between clinic, lab or other essential activities, you may use open classrooms for study, being mindful of social distancing and keeping the number of people in the room to a minimum.
