Construction Updates

Here’s what you need to know about Fry Hall basement renovations as well as the ongoing construction in Hamilton Hall:

  • When complete, the Fry Hall basement will be home to office space as well as a small classroom. This project will begin in mid-March (exact dates TBD).
  • Lockers located in the Fry Hall basement will need to be cleaned out by the end of the day on Tuesday, February 13. If you have a locker in the Fry Hall basement, you should have received an e-mail from Becca Roby with this information
  • The refrigerator and two microwaves currently in the Fry Hall basement student lounge will move to the Archer Lounge on the second floor of Fry (exact dates TBD).
  • Fun fact: The Fry Hall 235 classroom will become a new laser and surgical procedures lab where the injection arms will be located. The virtual BIOs in the Fry Hall basement will move to the existing injections lab on the second floor. This means all of your practice space will eventually be located on the second floor of Fry!
  • Meanwhile in Hamilton Hall, construction on the common student space continues and should be wrapped up in the spring. We plan to be able to occupy these spaces, which will include new lockers, at some point over the summer. More to come!

Complete your 2024 – 2025 FAFSA!!

Remember to complete your FAFSA by February 15 to be eligible for all need-based aid. You will not be able to include your parents’ information on the FAFSA. If you show financial need, you will be matched with the 2024-2025 Health Professions Application on ScholarshipUniverse. This may not occur until later in February. Becca will let you know when to start checking for it. You must complete this application to be considered for the Health Profession Student Loan (HPSL) and the need-based scholarship.

Changes to Email Forwarding with Google

We have always recommended not forwarding your official Ohio State email to Gmail. Beginning in February 2024, changes to Google security could impact your ability to receive forwarded e-mail from OSU. Remember that you are responsible for receiving and reading the information shared with you via your OSU e-mail account. If you forwarding your OSU e-mail to Gmail, we recommend that you discontinue this practice.

COVID-19 Protocols

For the safety of others, if you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, please take a COVID-19 test. It’s helpful to have tests on hand in case you need one. If you test positive, please quarantine for five days from day your symptoms started. You may return to in-person activities on day six if you are fever-free without medication for 24 hours and your symptoms are resolved or substantially better. You should wear a mask for five days once you return. If your quarantine period requires you to miss mandatory class/lab activities or midterms/practicals, please contact your faculty. If you will miss clinic time, please follow notification procedures for being out of clinic.
