If you are planning to use federal loans for the May 2024 – May 2025 academic year, you must complete the FAFSA. A new simplified form will launch on December 31, and the priority deadline is February 15. This form will require you to give your consent to have your tax information imported directly from the IRS. You must give this consent to apply for federal aid. There are no alternatives. If you are married, you must also request your spouse to give this consent. Also, you will no longer be able to include your parent information on the FAFSA.
