COVID-19 Updates – Vaccine Update and Faculty Notification of Absences

Wexner Medical Center is re-opening the COVID vaccination program for eligible candidates in the priority group 1A. Supplies will still be limited, so vaccinations will be administered on a priority basis. Act quickly to schedule your appointment as soon as possible. Please see the detailed e-mail from Dr. Nixon for all of the details and follow the scheduling instructions according to the category that best represents your situation. Vaccination increases your safety and also the safety of your patients and your classmates.

If you test positive for COVID-19 and/or need to quarantine due to exposure, please remember to do the following:

  • Contact Dr. Nixon at 614-537-5367 or nixon.24@osu.edu
  • Although Dr. Nixon will notify your faculty and attendings, it is important that you also follow all clinic absence notification procedures and personally notify your attending or instructor of your absence

Being proactive in your notifications is important to maintaining a high-level of professionalism

Student Organization News and Announcements: Meetings and Event/Officer Transitions

Student organizations now can hold small in-person gatherings of 10 or less with masking and social distancing. The university has asked that food is not consumed during on- or off-campus in-person student organization gatherings. If you would like to provide pre-packaged food “to-go,” this is fine, but food cannot be consumed during your gathering. If you are organizing an on- or off-campus in-person gathering for your organization where you are providing food to-go, it is your responsibility to make sure the food is not consumed at the event.

As your student organization holds elections and transitions to new officers this spring, please remember to do the following: Contact Jen Bennett with new officer information; hold a transition meeting prior to the end of spring semester; and make sure your new officers have access to bank accounts, important documents, etc. Jen will hold a training for new officers in June.
