Thanks to all who participated in the Student Club and Campus Resource Fair!

Student Club and Campus Resource FairOn September 5, an energetic group of students, faculty and staff representing 32 student organizations, campus resources and opportunities for professional development, gathered in the Biomedical Research Tower to share involvement opportunities with our new students. The event was a great showcase of the many ways students are making a difference in our community as well as a warm welcome for the Class of 2023!

InfantSee Speaker Event

On behalf of Dean Zadnik and Dr. Earley, please mark your calendars for Thursday, November 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. in room 112 Meiling Hall for a mandatory InfantSEE & Children’s Vision presentation, sponsored by the Allergan Foundation (note this event is optional for OPT IV students).

During this event, Dr. Glen “Bubba” Steele, a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) InfantSEE & Children’s Vision Committee, will speak about how optometric care, when provided early, can save lives and ensure success throughout childhood and school. He will be joined by John Petz, author and performer, who will deliver a keynote-style presentation and share heartfelt stories of his work with children.

At the beginning of the event, dinner will be served starting at 5:30 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded at the conclusion of the evening.

For more information about the InfantSEE & Children’s Vision program, visit the AOA Foundation’s Optometry Cares website at https://www.infantsee.org/

Save the Date: Admissions Visit Day, Saturday, November 2

Mark your calendars! On Saturday, November 2, we will host our Autumn Admissions Visit Day from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. These events typically bring nearly 200 guests, alumni and prospective students to the College of Optometry to meet students, faculty and staff, as well as to learn more about our admissions process and what makes Optometry at Ohio State so special. If you would like to volunteer for this event in some capacity, contact Shawn Gilbert at gilbert.351@osu.edu. Watch your e-mail for additional reminders as the event approaches.
