The Class of 2023 at their Welcome Dinner on August 20

Greetings all! We hope that the new academic year is off to a fantastic start for you! If you are not familiar with The Snellen Letter, it is our monthly student newsletter, brought to you by the Office of Student Services. While The Snellen Letter was on summer vacation, many exciting things happened around the college. Most notable, our new clinic building is well underway and the Class of 2023 has arrived! If you have not yet met the Class of 2023, make a point of doing so. They are delightful, and we are so excited to have them as part of the College of Optometry family!

Staff Change Reminders

As you may recall, Ashley Hill has taken on a new role as Assistant Director of Clinical Operations. On August 19, the college welcomed Kristen Campbell as the new Clinic Coordinator. With these changes, Becca Roby (roby.77@osu.edu, A425 Starling Loving Hall) has taken over the management of Immunization and CPR compliance. Any questions related to these topics should go to Becca. Kristen (Campbell.2295@osu.edu, A312 Starling Loving Hall) has assumed all responsibility for clinic scheduling and clinic leave requests. Please send clinic leave requests or questions to her in accordance with the clinic leave policy request schedule.

Try a New Study “Sight” at the Biological Sciences/Pharmacy Library (Riffe Building)

Riffe BuildingHas the new year found you looking for a new study “sight?” If so, each issue of The Snellen Letter during the 2019-2020 year will spotlight a different place to study on or near campus. If you have a favorite “sight” that you would like to include and/or review, contact Jen Bennett at bennett.1075@osu.edu. The spotlight space for this issue is the Biological Sciences/Pharmacy Library located within a short 10-minute walk to Riffe Hall. The library features both quiet places to study and group study rooms and is next door to Brenen’s Café. For a map and directions to Riffe, photos of the space, more information about library hours and group study room reservations, visit https://library.osu.edu/locations/bpl
