Admissions Visit Day showcases the many opportunities available within our college and profession! Join us to share all that is fantastic about Ohio State Optometry with prospective high school and college students, parents, advisors and alumni on Saturday, October 20 from 12:30 – 4:00 p.m. With so many visitors, we’d love to have student volunteers to greet our guests and share your experience as a member of our college community. There will be career discussions, admissions presentations, tours, and an opportunity to talk one-on-one with our guests. If you would like to volunteer, we’ll definitely have something for you to help with. Most volunteers will be needed for check-in from 11:45am – 12:30 p.m., and for tours and mingling from 1:45 – 4:00 p.m.

Applications are now open for Buckeye Soup! Buckeye Soup is a crowd-funding opportunity for registered student organizations at The Ohio State University. This semester’s theme is “Civic Engagement.” All registered student organizations looking to fund projects related to Civic Engagement are encouraged to submit a proposal. Five organizations will be selected to compete for funding for their project at Buckeye Soup Autumn 2018. The Office of Student Life’s OSU Votes organization encourages all Ohio State students to participate in the Big Ten Voting Challenge! The goal of the challenge is to be the Big Ten school with the highest overall student voter turnout. Let’s beat That School Up North and exercise our right to vote. To be eligible to vote in the November 6 General Election, the deadline to register to vote in Ohio is Tuesday, October 9.

Ohio State’s Department of Public Safety is offering a free safety app for students, faculty and staff. Rave Guardian offers many benefits including faster delivery of Buckeye Alerts and safety notices via push-notifications. The app also allows users to select friends or family to follow them via GPS tracking as they travel on and around campus. The virtual guardian is shown a timer based on your destination.
