Spring 2018 Student Special Events

Mark your calendars, as our annual spring student special events are right around the corner! Students who are participating in Graduation or White Coat will receive all details via e-mail from Becca Roby.

Class of 2018 Graduation Banquet: Friday, May 4, Marriott Columbus/University Area, 6:30 p.m.
Class of 2018 Doctoral Convocation: Saturday, May 5, Weigel Hall, 5:30 p.m.
The Ohio State University Commencement: Sunday, May 6, Ohio Stadium, Noon
Class of 2021 White Coat Ceremony: Saturday, May 12, Ohio Union Performance Hall, 4 p.m.

Last summer, the classes of 2018, 2019, and 2020 were polled to see if they would like to switch from mortar boards to tams for graduation regalia. 116 students responded. 87% voted to switch to the tam. We will be switching to tams this year!

On Sunday, February 11 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., JCPenney at the Polaris Fashion Place Mall will host their “Suit-Up Event.” Show your BuckID to receive 40% off men’s and women’s career dress apparel and shoes. The event also will feature giveaways/prizes, free mini makeovers at Sephora inside JCPenney, and free salon consultations and hair touch ups.

It’s always the right time to learn and practice interview skills! Student Affairs is piloting a new interview prep tool called Big Interview. The web-based software provides video tutorials and virtual mock interview practice that you can use as much or as little as you’d like from wherever you are. You even have the option to video-record a mock interview that can be shared with people in your network for feedback. You will receive an e-mail from Jen Bennett with log in information and further instructions.
