About Me

Hi, my name is Amanda Smith and I am first year, direct-admit Fisher student, and a business scholar with a major in Finance and minor in Economics.

As I have progressed through my years of education, I found the importance in academics but also in involving myself with as many enriching activities as possible. Besides taking challenging courses, I was involved in many clubs and activities including our High School’s Mini-THON, Spanish Club, and varsity cheerleading. As I approached college I came in with the mindset that I wanted to get involved right away. During Fall Semester, I rushed, received a bid, and pledged Delta Sigma Pi, a professional fraternity. Within my pledge class I was secretary, and now I serve on both the Community Service and Recruitment committees for the chapter. I also have a strong passion for community service so it was a given that I joined BuckeyeThon which has allowed me to fulfill this. Within BuckeyeThon, I am a morale captain, and a member of Family Relations. I have the role of Co-Events Coordinator in which I help plan events connecting our families impacted by Nationwide Children’s Hospital to the other members of BuckeyeThon.

Approaching the next four years of college, I hope to prepare myself for the future in as many ways as possible. I am looking forward to gaining professional business experience, enhancing and advancing my current education level, and also forming connections that I can have for the rest of my life.
