December will be a busy month in Arts and Sciences Technology Services.  In addition to normal maintenance and such, we are replacing some of our firewalls and core network switches.  We have been using the core network that was the College of Humanities core network before the merger that created Arts and Sciences.  With the substantial growth from the merger, that network has become outdated and experiences some slowness.  Our new network core will be completely 10GB (for the non-geeks, that is really fast) and have much more equipment redundancy.

Exciting times for sure.
