Postdoctoral Scholars

Dr. Andrea Fetters
Andrea is broadly interested in plant-pollinator-microbe interactions. She is currently investigating how the plant-arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal mutualism impacts the plant-pollinator mutualism via plant traits attractive to pollinators in areas with a history of anthropogenic disturbance. Andrea is co-mentored by Drs. Alison Bennett and Karen Goodell.

Graduate Students

Emily Runnion
Emily Runnion is a Ph.D. student majoring in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology. She received her B.S from the University of Arizona in Natural Resources with an emphasis on Wildlife Management. Emily’s research interests center on ecosystem services, specifically those provided by pollinators. She is particularly interested in working in landscapes that have experienced significant human impact, such as urban and agricultural settings. Emily’s thesis is focused on the combined effects of fungicide exposure and pathogen transmission on bumble bee colony health, and how this might impact the important pollination services these species provide.

Anna Starkey
Anna Starkey is an M.S. student in Evolution, Ecology, and Organismal Biology. Anna completed her B.S. at Ohio State University in Evolution and Ecology with minors in Studio Art and Forests, Fisheries, and Wildlife. Her research focuses on plant-insect interactions and community ecology in human-altered landscapes. Anna’s previous work involved utilizing ultra-violet photography to study differences in pollinator perception of floral color. For her master’s work, Anna is investigating the relationship between soil quality, plant traits, and insect herbivory on reclaimed mine land in Eastern Ohio.
