Year in Review

Sophomore year has come with its ups and downs for me, which seems to be a common theme for many students; the sophomore slump is definitely very real. I have found this year challenging in a number of ways, particularly academically. I took on a 17 hour course load this past semester and in the middle of this challenge I was starting to feel like I had bitten off more than I could chew. Through this overwhelming time I found that there was a lot to learn; especially about myself. I can confidently say that I came out of this year- yes a little wearier, but no worse for the wear. I have begun to work on my time management skills and on really honing in on what I want to do with my life. Sometimes it is hard to prioritize when you aren’t doing things you love, because none of it felt important. By focusing in on my passion for food sustainability and epidemiology I have been able to set manageable goals and have come out of my sophomore year with a clearer picture of the future and what I want out of it. I look forward to getting more involved with research at Ohio State and all the other opportunities my junior year has to offer.
