My G.O.A.L.S. while at OSU

Global Awareness: Currently I am enrolled in a Spanish course where I am learning to speak proper Spanish as well as learning about the many aspects of Latinx culture. I am enrolled in this course as I come from a Hispanic background, and I want to know about the culture.

Original Inquiry: In my field of study there are endless possibilities that pertains to research and co-op experiences. Some original inquiry that I have include exploring the challenges that amputees face in everyday life when using prosthetics. My target group would include those people who served in our nation’s military, to examine how they’ve adjusted to a new life with different challenges.

Academic Enrichment: My future with academics include very challenging courses which will help prove to me what I really want out my education here at OSU. Currently I am doing my best by using my experiences in PSL, which is to listen to other people’s ideas, while being able to respect what they think. While I am learning I am actively respecting the ways my professors teach, and I am able to learn better.

Leadership Development: I am confident in knowing that my involvement in my Scholars program will help me develop leadership skills, and it will give me more opportunities to attain a leadership role. In my co-curricular activities I plan on becoming a leader as well.

Service Engagement: Service has always been a big part of my life ever since I was a young kid. My many hours spent committing to service were some of my best hours spent on Earth, not because it benefited me, buy what it did for others who it helped. My experiences serving made me the person I am today. I plan on continuing my service to the direct community that surrounds me by being actively involved in community service whether it be through PSL or my own personal involvement. Specifically, I want to continue being involved in aiding food banks, humane societies, military families, and the sick.
