Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. In my honors thesis review (honors-thesis-review-sports-cbas), I discussed the effects of collective bargaining agreements between owners and players unions in professional sports leagues in the US. Since this issue directly ties into my desired future career path it was especially interesting to consider the repercussions of successful (and failed) labor negotiations and how these talks between players and owners have the potential to both assuage long-term concerns for both parties and dissolve into harsh negotiations with the potential to cause lockouts and stand in the way of the professional sports seasons.

About Me

profpicI aspire to one day become the General Manager of a professional sports franchise. I look forward to majoring in both Sports Industry, focusing on the management side of sports, and Business, focusing on either management or marketing, so that one day I can work in the front office of a sports team or possibly a sporting and music entertainment presenter. This is because I value working hard while doing something of interest, and with my extreme interest in sports management and the business side of sports this career would allow me to work in a field that I love and by which I am genuinely intrigued.
