G.O.A.L.S.

  • Global Awareness: I plan on incorporating global awareness into my time here at Ohio State by taking courses that explore different cultures in the process of fulfilling my G.E. requirements. In addition, I have shown interest in cultural organizations like Slavic Club. Along with that, I would ultimately love to study aboard at some point in time if circumstances allow for it, preferably studying something related to international economics while absorbing new culture and ways of life at the same time.
  • Original Inquiry: I plan on incorporating original inquiry into my studies by getting involved in research at some point during my time here at Ohio State, most likely some sort of economics research. I plan on saving research for a little bit later in my college career for a time when I have more direction in exactly what I would like to study and have been exposed to a wider array of possible studies and research skills.
  • Academic Enrichment: I plan on fulfilling academic enrichment by take a load of rigorous courses that relate to my interests. In addition my plan to double major in Economics and Computer and Information Science will add a large amount of varied academic enrichment to my life. On top of this I am considering joining organization like the Undergraduate Economics Society to continue my learning and growth outside of the classroom, but I am still exploring my options in that realm at this point.
  • Leadership Development: I am still juggling how to integrate this goal into my college life but overall I plan to engage more heavily in a few organizations that I find myself extra interested in and work my way up to being a leader within those groups. Additionally, I would like to show myself as a leader in the community by participating in community involvement and service programs, my favorite is to work with kids and assume the position of a teacher, role model, or mentor for them.
  • Service Engagement: I plan on incorporating service engagement into my life through my extracurricular activities and the student organizations that I join. I have still not narrowed down exactly what organizations as there are so many options and I am still exploring them. I am interested in things programs like Big Brothers Big Sisters and Students for Refugees. I particularly enjoy working with kids and making an impact on their lives as I have participated in many programs of the sort in the past and greatly enjoy making a difference in that way.
