Takeaways from Class

1. Learning Style

Is learning style a myth? This is our discussion topic for week 5 and 6, and our classmates have a lot of creative and wonderful thoughts about this question. From this discussion, I begin to know that learning style will certainly make students learn in their most comfortable way. However, it may also make students lazy. Moreover, effort is still one of the most important component of a student’s overall achievement.

2. SMART Goal Setting Strategy

SMART goal setting strategy means that goal needs to be specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and defined within a timeframe for completion. This strategy is learned in the first 2 weeks of our class. I believe that most of us found this especially helpful for managing our time and keeping up with our improvement. I have been using this strategy for a long time since I first learned about it. It really helps to use my time wisely and plan everything in advance.

3. Variable APPs

In this course, several APPs that can help us manage our time and tasks are introduced, including Study Manager and Trello. I use both of these APPs and use one of them for study management and use another one for other things such as works and daily life. I also found some APPs that can help me complete things more efficiently by myself, such as Todoist.
