SHEROS Discusses a Sensitive Problem

Our event “I Don’t See Nothin’ Wrong…” on March 1st went off without a hitch.

We convened to watch sections of the Lifetime documentary Surviving R. Kelly. SHEROS partnered with AYL to discuss how the documentary relates to sexual assault in our own community.

The turnout was great! We provided Chick-fil-A to all who came, which definitely helped bring people in. We were surprised to have such a large number of men—a great thing to see for an event based around a sensitive yet important topic.

The success of this event will hopefully encourage those present to be more vocal about the issue of sexual assault in the community.
