🎊 Welcome to SHE IS Lab! Empowering Women’s Health, One Step at a Time! Our mission? To champion women’s health through innovative research, compassionate care, and community support. One of our many projects looks at the efficacy behind “Fem-Tech” devices for period tracking! Here is why that’s important!
🟪 Understanding Your Cycle: trackers help monitor your menstrual cycle, and can predict the length of menstruation and days between each cycle.
🟪 Predicting Your Period: you gain the awareness and ability to prepare for your period.
🟪 Fertility Awareness: you are able to predict your fertile window, aiding in family planning or contraception.
🟪 Health Monitoring: can help you gain value reproductive health data by tracking mood changes, cramps, and flow consistency.
🟪 Medical Insights: Sharing data with healthcare providers can assist in diagnosing menstrual disorders or irregularities.
🟪 Empowerment: Understanding your body and menstrual patterns empowers you to make informed decisions about your health and well-being.
In our SPARK study, we use two types of Femtech called Ovusense and Mira.

Ovusense is a clinically proven fertility monitoring system that provides real-time data on ovulation. It works by using a vaginal sensor worn overnight (like a tampon that you wear at night), which tracks continuous core body temperature. This data is used to predict ovulation up to 24 hours in advance. With personalized cycle insight. Ovusense is especially valuable if you experience irregular periods or are trying to conceive.

Mira is a hormone tracking device that measures actual hormone concentrations in urine. Using a handheld analyzer and test wands (like a pregnancy test that you insert into a device). Mira tracks key fertility hormones specifically Luteinizing Hormone (LH), Estradiol Metabolite (E3G – estrogen), Progesterone (PdG), and Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH). This gives you lab-quality insights from the comfort of your home. It helps you understand your unique cycle patterns, predict ovulation, and monitor hormone imbalances with a high level of accuracy.
Period trackers are tools to aid in understanding and managing your menstrual health. They are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Always consult with a healthcare provider for personalized guidance and support.
