About Me!

Welcome! My name is Arushi Sharma(she/her/hers) and I am a second-year student at the Ohio State University studying Economics and Mathematics with a minor in Russian. I was born in Delhi, India but I have lived in many different cities across India and the United States, before settling in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio, where I have lived since the age of 11.

I am a member of the International Affairs Scholars Program, University Honors Program and I am involved in various student organizations on campus such as the Collegiate Council on World Affairs, Undergraduate Student Government, and Omicron Delta Epsilon, the Economics Honors Society.

I have always been interested in Economics because of the way it attempts to quantify human behavior and serves as an important tool for global development. After I graduate from Ohio State, I want to get a Ph.D. in Economics and work as a full-time researcher or Professor. Outside of my coursework, I’ve learned more about research and economics through my work as a Research Assistant. I work for the Ohio State’s Economics Department under Dr. Bruce Weinberg, where I am working on projects about Gender Income Disparities in Higher Education and the effect of COVID-19 phased reopening policies on different US states. I am also a Research Assistant at the Neuroeconomics Lab at OSU led by Dr. Ian Krajbich, where I am working on projects about Dictator Games in Game Theory.
