This symbolizes the kind of clothing Inca Brides of the Sun would make. As Elizabeth Abbott states in her novel ” A History of Celibacy” the Acllas spun and wove fine, brightly colored cloth, to adorn the idols, to burn in sacrifice and for the Incas garments (p.188.Abbott). Incan dress was simple woven garments that were brightly colored and had intricate patterns. Cloth weaving was a womanly duty. They wore sandals for shoes, also it was the fathers job to make sandals for his family. Incas also had gold and silver ornaments. Few jobs were gender specific before the Inca. I think this is specifically interesting as an example to show how history repeats itself. The Incan wore brightly colored clothing and exotic patterns and those trends are returning in the Americans during the 21 century.
