Welcome to Ohio State’s chapter of Sigma Gamma Tau. SGT was originally founded on the campus of Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana in 1953. Their purpose was “to offer appropriate recognition to persons of superior scholarship, outstanding character, and professional achievement in the field of Aeronautical Engineering.”
SGT recognizes and honors individuals within the aerospace engineering major who have demonstrated excellent scholarship and achievement throughout their undergraduate career. The goal of this society is to foster a community among high-achieving aerospace students and to develop our members personally, professionally, and socially.
Sigma Gamma Tau seeks to build the aerospace community at Ohio State through a variety of activities including organizing tutoring and review sessions for introductory aerospace classes, hosting networking sessions and professional development events, volunteering to better the Ohio State community, and holding social events to encourage SGT’s sense of community to grow stronger. SGT also collaborates with AIAA and the Buckeye Space Launch Initiative to present the annual Ohio State Aerospace Banquet, bringing together OSU students, faculty, and guests.
