Dr. Emily Herry (they/them) is a lifespan developmental psychologist and social scientist working as a postdoctoral scholar in The Ohio State University College of Nursing Center for Healthy Aging, Self-Management, and Complex Care. Broadly, they seek to understand and address the complex interplay of social and contextual factors that influence the health and development of transgender and gender-diverse individuals across the lifespan. Their work has addressed social development in intergroup contexts, discrimination, identity-based bullying, exclusion, and bystander intervention online and offline. By utilizing mixed methods and community-based participatory research, Emily aims to identify mechanisms for reducing bias and discrimination against and promoting the mental health and development of transgender and gender-diverse people.
