Call for Papers on SGM Youth Mental Health

JAACAP and JAACAP Open will publish a special topic series devoted to the mental health of sexual and gender minority youth. Review articles (JAACAP and JAACAP Open) and original empirical/data-based articles (JAACAP Open) will be published throughout the next year and will be selected to cover a range of topics in the area. Articles should be focused on the mental health of sexual and gender minority youth, including the domains of epidemiology (including phenomenology, as well as biopsychosocial influences) translational neuroscience, including genetics and neuroimaging, the prevention and treatment of mental health concerns, measurement, service design and implementation, and mental health policy. Submissions addressing minoritization stress, life course, intersectional and ecological factors and those encompassing global and sociocultural contexts are encouraged. This special topic series will be edited by Guest Editors Stewart L. Adelson, MD, David S. Hong, MD, Meng-Chuan Lai, MD, PhD, and Jack L. Turban, MD; Consulting Editor Tonya White, MD, PhD; Associate Editor Robert R. Althoff, MD, PhD; Editor Manpreet K. Singh, MD, MS; and Editor-in-Chief Douglas K. Novins, MD. JAACAP is also interested in submissions of child and youth art related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.
