Disability Services

The Office of Disability Services at Ohio State is located at 098 Baker Hall. Disability Services serves students with a variety of disabilities, including:

  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Learning Disabilities
  • Psychiatric Disabilities
  • Medical Disabilities / Chronic Illnesses
  • Mobility Impairments
  • Visual Impairments
  • Deafness or Hard of Hearing

Disability Services does not provide students with advantages, but rather accommodations that allow students to achieve an equal opportunity for success in the classroom.

Accommodations offered will depend on the nature of the student’s disability, and include transportation, alternative media, interpreting, assistive technology, counseling, captioning, disability parking, exam accommodations, and note-taking assistance.

Before accessing these accommodations, students must register with ODS. We recommend that all eligible students register. Even if you do not need accommodations for every class or even for every semester, registering with ODS will help you in cases where you do need to work with an instructor to find a fair solution.
