Our rationale for choosing this condition

Septic Shock is a condition all providers and practitioners must vigilantly consider when assessing a patient presenting with an infection in acute care or a primary care setting. Regardless of whether the patient is decompensating or not, understanding the cause, risk factors, pathophysiology of septic shock will improve treatment times and patient outcomes. Practitioners must be able to initiate immediate therapies or refer patients presenting with manifestations of septic shock quickly. The aim of this blog is to present a clinical patient case, differential diagnoses, and pathophysiology of septic shock.
