About Me

I am Maggie Seikel a first-year student from Rocky River, Ohio majoring in Economics and History. I am a Clevelander at heart with an unmatched love for the Indians, but Columbus and OSU have become a home for me this year. As a part of the Eminence program, I have become more involved with the community through the search for my classes’ service project.

My interests encompass a large range of subjects, complicating my search for a major, but I am extremely happy that I have the chance to combine the qualitative with the quantitative through my double major in Econ and History. I hope to complete research in 20th century US and European history with a focus on culture and economics. After my time at OSU, I plan to attend law school and have the eventual goal of becoming a judge.

My experience volunteering with the Legal Aid Society of Columbus as a part of the Public Benefits team has increased my interest in law and policy as I am able to directly help people every day. This interest influenced my plans for Summer 2018 as I will be interning with the Dettelbach for Ohio Attorney General campaign in Cleveland. I cannot wait to volunteer more through the Eminence infant mortality service project, and participate further in the Columbus community.
