G.O.A.L.S.

Global Awareness – Ohio State has an abundance of global opportunities with the courses, extracurriculars, and study abroad trips it offers. I took a class on the history of water which taught me how water plays different roles in civilizations around the world. It explained how each society needs water to thrive, but how each society uses it in their own unique way. In the future, I am interested in potentially studying abroad.

Original Inquiry – Although I have not taken advantage of the research opportunities available at Ohio State yet, I look forward to doing research in the future. Through the marketing class that I took, I learned that I am very interested in consumer behavior. I would like to do research in this area before I graduate.

Academic Enrichment – As a Business Administration major with a double specialization in Finance and Economics, I plan to use the knowledge gained from this degree to pursue a career in investment banking. In addition to that, I am completing a minor in Computer and Information Science. I find computer science very interesting and would like to develop my skills in this area. Although I do not have much experience with coding and computer science in general, I am excited to challenge myself academically.

Leadership Development – Since arriving at Ohio State, I have been heavily involved with the Mount Leadership Society Scholars. Through Mount, we have been able to develop and enhance our leadership skills with service opportunities at OSU and around the city of Columbus. Within Mount, I am the head of the Advancement and Alumni Relations Committee. I lead fellow Mount Scholars in planning and executing events to engage current Mount Scholars with the alumni of Mount. This has been a great opportunity to grow as a leader.

Service Engagement – This year, I am volunteering as a Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line. I will be talking with people in crisis and will help them move from a state of anxiety to a calm mindset. I have committed to serving in this capacity for 200 hours throughout the year, and I look forward to being there for those who need someone.
