Who is PScott?

Jessie AnneMy name is Patty Scott.  I am 46 years old and have been married to my husband, Ralph,  for 22 years.  We have 3 children.  Jessica, our oldest,  just graduated from Darby HS and will be attending OU in the fall.  Jacob is 10, and heading into the 5th grade.  Jackie is almost 8 and going into 2nd!  I grew up in Gahanna, but am currently I live in Hilliard and, except for an 8 year stint in Chicago and a 2 year transition in Mt. Vernon, I have live in Central Ohio all my life.  To the left is a picture of Jessica when she was a cheerleader.  Quite the daredevil!!!

It wasn’t until after I was out of college for a few years that I remembered that I really wanted to teach.  So, I went back to school to get my education degree.  I attended Loyola University in Chicago and earned my MEd in Curriculum and Instruction.   I got a job right out of school and began teaching at Leyden HS just outside of Chicago.  I had been married now for 5 years and was 28 years old.  In my first year of teaching, I got pregnant.

So away went the job for a bit.  When Jessica was a year old, we decided that, as much as we love Chicago, we did not feel safe bring up children there, so we moved back to Ohio.  We lived in Mt. Vernon for 2 years while I began looking for a job here.  I interviewed at many places, and then I hit the jackpot.  I was hired at Dublin Coffman.  We moved closer to Dublin and bought our first house.  When Dublin Jerome opened, I transferred over and have been there ever since.

I picked up the nickname PScott, because a few kids started calling me Patty.  I kept telling them to stop, but one day a Freshman called me Patty.  I put a stop to it.  The seniors asked if they could call me PScott.  I thought about it and agreed.  I have been PScott ever since.  In fact,  if you ask for Mrs. Scott, no one will know who you are talking about.  I am called just PScott.

I absolutely love what I do, but it is not because I think that theatre is so awesome, or that I love being super creative.  I love watching kids gain the confidence to be themselves.  I believe in being true to who you are inside, and then going out and spreading the joy.  I have found that the theatre is a great place to explore another’s point of view and that can, in turn, allow us all to understand ourselves more.   I fully support service to others and work very hard to make my theatre program a place where kids feel safe to explore and grow. Visit my page at Dublin!!!  The content is actually old stuff from last year, but it is there!!

My biggest issue in my program is getting word out to everyone about what is going on , and that is a huge reason that I am taking this course.  I actually have a web page, but even my theatre officers did not even know we had one.  I want to make it so much better so that people will want to visit the site!  I am not great with technology, but I get by.  I have just started this year making a google calendar and making it public so that kids and parents can subscribe to it!  you can check out my public calendar by going to the menu above or clicking here!!
