I hold a B.S. in Accountancy with a minor in Italian from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. During my time at Illinois, I spent a semester at Università Bocconi. Prior to my graduate studies, I had an international career, first working as a financial auditor, then as a high school English teacher in Italy.
Now, I am half way through my PhD in Italian Studies at Ohio State University preparing for my candidacy exams. However, I am taking a leave of absence to gain professional teaching experience in France at the Université de Rennes for the AY 24-25. I am teaching English as a second language in content courses to undergraduates and masters students.
Before my year in France, I served as FIGSA Treasurer for a two-year term from 2022-2024. As treasurer, I budgeted and applyed for money from the university for our daily operations as well as for hosting invited speakers. I co-organized the guest speaker events, which were the following: AY 22-23 Melissa Sigrist and Dr. Amy Boylan and AY 23-24 Line Papin and Dr. Lorenzo Fabbri. Additionally, I co-organized a successful bake sale to raise funds for our organization for two consecutive years.
Outside of academics, my interests include: cooking, baking, triathlons, travel, nature. I especially love when these hobbies intersect and overlap.
My pronouns are she/they/lei.
