Mr. Gnidovec’s talk was very enjoyable as he is quite knowledgeable in his field. He was also genuinely excited about his job and was willing to talk about his past experiences when asked. His knowledge comes from a lifetime of work which not only shows passion but also commitment. Though he told us at the end he had shown us over 100 slides it did not at all feel long. His presentation was a fluid and flowing conversation about history which I liked. Being able to hold the different fossils such as the two sets of teeth was amazing. He has made me even more interested in fossils and the history of the Earth as a whole.
One of my favorite slides that he talked about was the slide where he talked about the oldest rock known, it was 3.85 billion years old. That is absolutely crazy to think a rock that old survived with the way the Earth is constantly changing and recycling rock. He told us about different museums while abroad to go visit and a little bit about the history of Ohio as well as some history of Orton Hall.
