I completed my Bachelor’s of Science at Walsh University in North Canton, OH with a degree in pre-professional chemistry. I completed my doctoral studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, under the direction of Dr. Jerry Silver in the Department of Neurosciences. My doctoral work focused on understanding cell-cell interactions, glial cell biology, and regeneration failure after SCI. Upon graduation, I worked with Dr. Richard Zigmond, where I trained in molecular techniques while studying regeneration of the peripheral nervous system. To pursue my interests in neuroimmunology, I have recently joined the laboratory of Dr. Schwab. I am interested in understanding the functional deficits that result from systemic infections, such as pneumonia, after SCI.
