Hi! My name is Robbie Schuhl and I am currently a freshman at The Ohio State University in the Mount Leadership Scholars program. I am currently considering majoring in Broadcasting and Media Production. I am from Gallipolis, Ohio, where I attended River Valley High School which I graduated with honors from in 2018. I am passionate about leadership, kindness, and enthusiasm in everyday life, and making people smile and laugh in any way I can.
Over the past 3 years I have attended 13 leadership seminars across the country. This includes HOBY Ohio South, HOBY World Leadership Congress, HOBY Advanced Leadership Academy, National BETA Conventions, Alex’s Lemonade Stand Student Leadership Academy, and more! In addition, I am a 2018 Horatio Alger National Scholar, attending the Horatio Alger Association National Scholars Conference in April of this year. I volunteer with HOBY at a number of seminars, as well as volunteering at miscellaneous locations in my hometown and in Columbus. Interestingly, from my leadership seminars I have made friends from 14 different countries and all U.S. states, except for North Dakota.
My goal in life is to become a figure who can help save small towns across America from the disrepair they have fallen into thanks to various factors. I also want to start an organization called the Kindness Committee, dedicated to being a support group for all people that also volunteers in force in communities. The only way to reach true equality is loving and doing what you can to understand others, even if it isn’t reciprocated.
