My College Goals

First Semester:  I hope to be able to properly plan out my time and have more self-discipline with regards to how I conduct myself towards school in college. This is an important goal for me because I believe that if I can start college on the right foot, then I will be able to build on my success rather than having to improve from my failure. In order to accomplish this goal, I must focus on prioritizing school over other things and I must make sure that I continually make sure that everything that I have to do for class gets done on time and with my best effort.

Freshman Year: My goal for this school year is to have at least a 3.75 GPA. This feels challenging but that is a good thing. I hope to continue to build off of the great grades I have gotten in this first semester and to achieve a GPA which will make me a great fit for any company’s criteria with regards to internships and jobs. This goal is very important to me because I want to make sure that I can succeed through college in order to also get a great job after college. The important steps I must take in order to achieve this goal is to focus on starting strong and always spending time to learn material for my classes so that I continue to excel at Ohio State.

By The End Of College: I hope to have not just maintained a good GPA through my time at OSU, but to also join at least two clubs and have leadership in at least one of those clubs. This goal isn’t as centered around grades, but instead will help me to focus more on how I can meet people through clubs and to find things that interest me at Ohio State. A few steps that I can take this year to accomplish this goal is to find clubs that interest me and make me want to participate in everything that club has to offer.

This is Me

Hello my name is Sean Schnautz and I am a Mechanical Engineering student at Ohio State in the 2024 graduating class. I really enjoy math, physics, and history classes. I hope to gain experience in the engineering field through internship and co-op’s in order to use my talents while also improving upon my weaknesses. I am not set on one particular industry but I would like to gain knowledge in fields which will be very beneficial for my career after college. I am a fast learner and I am good at organizing out a task so that steps are done to finish the task in a timely manor. I currently am involved in clubs such as Formula Buckeye where we create a formula one-style car to race in competitions as well as FIRST Alumni & Robotics at Ohio State which works on building a robot for the First Robotics Competition while also helping to mentor high school teams that are competing in FIRST.
