About Me

I’m Lindsay Schmidt and I’m a first year studying Materials Science and Engineering with a minor in Humanitarian Engineering at The Ohio State University. I’m a part of Society of Women Engineers and CRU on campus! I’m also in the Humanitarian Engineering scholars group. I’m interested in using engineering to solve problems for underserved society members and to help make a difference in my community by helping others.

My top five strengths are includer, developer, woo, positivity and communication! Includer is someone who is aware of those who may be left out and make an effort to make them a part of the group. I always accept those for who they are and place my time into making sure everyone is being a part of something! Includer also tend to welcome the company of numerous people which is an area where I feel very comfortable. Developers recognize and cultivate the potential in others. I connect with this by trying to always find the best in people and push them towards what I know they can do. Woo, for me, is loving the challenge of meeting new people and making a connection with another person. I am very capable of pulling people together and making important connections with them. Positivity involves people who have an enthusiasm that is contagious. It also can orient around being neat with the work area and feeling good about logical decisions. In my life, I keep everything organized to feel accomplished and keep a positive outlook on upcoming situations/trials that might approach. My last strength is communication which is being able to easily put thoughts into words which can translate into a good conversationalist and presenter. I feel comfortable expressing what I value and being in front of a crowd to present an idea/thing that I feel passionate about!
