With my HES group, we decided to go to one of the local restaurants in the Short North on October 21 and we all picked to go to Condado’s! We all met at the Union to ride the bus down to the restaurant. Once we were all sat, we all got to catch up on how school is going and how we are liking college so far. One of my favorite parts of the experience was being able to talk to Nicole about her experiences with OSU and her being able to give advice on things that I’m not sure of (she’s so helpful and genuinely interested on how everyone is doing)! The food at Condado’s was so incredible and I was able to try food that I hadn’t experienced before. Nicole recommended the “Sweet Lucy” shell which I tried and was blown away by how amazing it was. I will continue to keep going back and have already made plans with my mom to come up to try the food there!
With my roommates, we wanted to check out the local coffee shops and study together so we found an amazing one called Kafe Kerouac on High Street! We all walked from our dorm together in the snow and quickly found it. When we walked in, I was so impressed with all of the books that were there for anyone to read and the records they had on the wall! I really enjoyed the living room aspect with the big couches and the variety of tables/chairs for eating/studying there. My roommates and I were able to study there without being too distracted as well! We also got to talk about college and how the transition has been into our first year here at Ohio State. Being honest, I don’t know what I would do without them because they have been crucial in helping me make a home and a support group that I can always count on to be there for me. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop to anyone who wants a cute change of scenery from campus and is also looking for a great place to study/hang out. The coffee and baked goods are really yummy which is an amazing reward after studying for finals!
