Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. G.O.A.L.S.

The Goals of the Honors and Scholars program are Global Awareness, Original Inquiry, Academic Enrichment, Leadership Development, and Service Engagement. Currently, I am involved with Leadership Development through the Mount Leadership Society. I am leading a team of fellow Mount Scholars in a three-month project that aids the environment. We must plan, budget, and carry out the service as a group. I am also working towards service engagement through the University’s Air Force Reserve Officers Training Corps. I plan to serve my country when I graduate college as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Air Force.

Career

[“Career” is where you can collect information about your experiences and skills that will apply to your future career.  Like your resume, this is information that will evolve over time and should be continually updated.   For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio. Artifacts

The most beneficial artifact that assisted my learning though high school was my piano. Whenever I was feeling stressed, just sitting down and playing a few songs would alleviate the stress and worries of the day. Playing piano also taught me certain disciplines, such as perseverance, and setting goals.

About Me

picture
Hello! My name is Nicholas Schlegel and I am a first-year student planning on majoring in Mechanical Engineering and am in the Mount Scholars Program. I am from Dayton, Ohio, and was actively involved in the music program and drama club in high school. In addition to academics and the arts, I actively worked on my leadership abilities through my parish and my school’s campus ministry program. In my spare time, I spend a lot of time reading, playing piano, or spending time with family and friends. I am very excited to be part of the Honors and Scholars program, and am grateful to call myself a Buckeye!
