In my remaining time on campus, I aim to prepare myself not only for graduate school, but also for the world that lies ahead of being a college student. While learning under the direction of a professor may not always be exciting or easy, it can be even more difficult to be left to continue learning on your own following graduation. I want to begin developing habits of researching and learning on my own time now before I enter the “real world.” Genetic counseling is a field that is constantly growing and being updated, and as a genetic counselor I will be responsible for my own knowledge database.
