Artifacts
: I started running sophomore year in high school and it played a huge role in my life. Running in high school helped me make a lot of new friends and made me more organized with my school work. I also use running as a stress reliever and a way to explore new places. It helps me stay physically and mentally healthy and I plan on continuing this sport for as long as my body allows it.
Ohio State Block O Pin: This pin was given to every freshman at orientation and we were told to hold onto it until graduation day and use it as motivation. I keep it pinned above my desk and wear it when I dress up. This pin will eventually symbolize my time here at OSU and I will keep it forever to always remember the memories made here.
About Me
Hello!
My name is Matt Schiller and I’m from a suburb near Detroit, Michigan. I’m a very active person and most of my time in high school was spent at cross country and track. Before that, I spent the first 14 years of my life playing hockey. Besides sports I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, woodworking and photography. I am very excited for what’s to come this year. I hope to attend lots of OSU sporting events, explore short north and downtown Columbus, and make loads of new friends! I’m majoring in aerospace engineering and dream of one day working for NASA and living in Colorado.
This is a picture of me a week before my first college class. I was on a wilderness welcome trip run thru the OAC (Outdoor Recreation Center) at OSU. 11 other incoming freshman and I drove out to Colorado and spent a week climbing and hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. This was the best climb of the trip, named “The Edge of Time.” Words can not describe the feelings and the views I had at the top of this climb!
