WELCOME TO THE COMPUTATIONAL HYDROGEOLOGY RESEARCH GROUP IN THE SCHOOL OF EARTH SCIENCES.
We are dedicated to understanding how the flow of water mediates geologic and ecologic processes near the earth’s surface. Our research focuses on the exchange of surface water and groundwater (for example, fluid flow between rivers or bays and aquifers). Surface water-groundwater exchange impacts ecosystem health by influencing the movement of nutrients, contaminants, and heat in watersheds.
RESEARCH INTERESTS
• River-groundwater exchange
• Coastal surface water-groundwater interactions
• Coupled processes involving fluid and heat flow, reactive transport, and ecology
• Flume and wave tank studies, numerical models
• Accessibility and reliability of clean drinking water
