Natural Environment

Solasta planners would like to utilize more of the natural resources the city’s land has to offer.

Thanks to wind turbines and water treatment plants, the city has been able to sustain itself with as little damage to the environment as possible. Unfortunately, Solasta has not made use of the readily available ore, oil, forestry, and fertile land. In their efforts to promote organization using rigid neighborhood layouts, planners failed to note where these resources were most plentiful. With a redirection of goals, Solasta planners will now have the opportunity to reorganize industrial zones based on where natural resources are available. The current structure of suburban neighborhoods and their purposeful separation from industrial zones threatens this plan because it leaves less room for flexibility in placing industrial zones, but demands for more resources will likely overcome this threat. Planners will redesign the industrial sector of Solasta to maximize use of resources by seeking out the best plots to extract those resources and zoning districts for specific types of industry.

Pictured above is a map of Solasta’s available natural resources. Note how none has been used.
