Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more guidance on using your ePortfolio, including questions and prompts that will help you get started, please visit the Honors & Scholars ePortfolio course in Carmen. G.O.A.L.S.

G: Global Awareness – Having come from a different country in a different continent, I expect to learn a lot about US culture and history. Since US has a lot of people from different parts of the world, I will also try my best to get an understanding of their way of thinking and their cultures.

O: Original inquiry – Original inquiry is one of the most sure signs that one has an interest in the topic they’re studying. My aim is to try out many research opportunities in my area of interest and hope they help me form my own ideas about that topic.

A: Academic enrichment – I am currently double majoring, with Mathematics and Computer Science, two very important fields right now. I hope to make the most out of my time here at Ohio State, and learn upto my fullest potential. I also want to diversify my knowledge, so I have just started to learn the violin. Hopefully, I can really shine in everything that I learn.

L: Leadership Development – This is a quality that I need to improve on, because I feel that I do not possess the leadership quality. The most important step is to improve on is communication skills, which I think I am already making progress in. There is still a long way to go, but I am determined to improve my leadership skills during my time here.

S: Service Engagement – This is an area, which I haven’t looked into yet, but I’m sure there are a lot of opportunities and ways to do something for the community. I am interested to see the many different ways I can do this.
